KCS Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse has been named the 2022 First Tennessee District Superintendent of the Year. With his recognition as the top district First Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Moorhouse is also now a finalist for the 2022 Tennessee Superintendent of the Year, which will be announced later this year.

All board meetings, work sessions, and mini-retreats are open to the public.

Dr. Chris Hampton was named Principal of the Year and Vicki Johnston was named Supervisor of the Year. Teachers of the Year include, Jackilyn Heller (grades Pre-K–4), Mona Fulkerson (grades 5–8), and Dr. Andy Irvin (grades 9–12).

Pre-K Screening: Wednesday, April 7, 2021 between 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., located at the Palmer Early Learning Center. Kindergarten Registration: Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and from 4 - 6 p.m. located at all Kingsport City Elementary Schools.

Zoning and Tuition Applications for students in grades K–12 for the 2021-2022 school year will open on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 8 a.m.

Nominations for the KCS Hall of Fame Class of 2021 will be accepted through May 1, 2021.

KCS Board of Education will hold its regular January business meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2020 at 6 p.m. electronically via Zoom.
